So i've been mulling on this in a moment of boredom:

The original X-men trilogy tried Dark Phoenix and it sucked.
The First Class X-men tried Dark Phoenix and it sucked.
Nevertheless...
Dark Phoenix is still one of the most famous, most popular storylines in the history of Marvel. And seeing as they've done Civil War, they've done Ultron, they've done the Infinity Gauntlet, they've done Planet Hulk... looks to me like they are running out of iconic storylines. Secret Wars is bound to happen of course.

One idea I had for bringing the mutants into the MCU would be House of M in reverse. Instead of ''no more mutants'' we'll have ''mutants''. We do already have a reality bending Wanda Maximoff after all.

I still reckon we'll have Hugh Jackman back in the MCU. Its just a question of how much $ they throw at him to get him to change his mind. Tobey Maguire has proven that there is money in that there nostalgia.

There might be a Hugh Jackman Wolverine. The thing is that he isn't getting any younger and he is starting to look very much his age.

Wolverine outside the future Old Man Logan storyline which has been done, he always looked the same. Age wise.

They would have to deage him CGI which is being done and getting better at it.

Or they could just move on with a new actor. Make him more of a supporting cast than Wolverine and His X-Men.

I think they will be brought in slowly. Test the waters, see how it goes and then go from there. MCU for the most part does this and does it well. Offhand the only one they didn't do that for outside the original movies in the beginning is Captain Marvel.
I got nothing to say here.
