William Shatner on AI

This one comes from the man himself.

Got to say, looking at that main cast photo that has two Voyager actors (Seven and Janeway), two TOS actors (Spock and Uhura), some purple thing from a show no one watches, and literally every other Captain but him, you can at least see where he's coming from even if you don't agree. He is conspicuous in his absence somewhat.

PS Micheal is in the middle, what a ''surprise''.

Well going from left to right:
Archer - ENT Rep
Spock - TOS, SNW Rep
Uhura - " " "
Purple - PRO Rep
Picard - TNG, PIC Rep
Michael - DIS Rep
Pike - DIS, SNW Rep
Mariner - LD Rep
Janeway - VOY, PRO Rep
Sisko - DS9 Rep
Seven - VOY, PIC Rep

So there's a rep from every series, with a bias towards ones who can count for current series. Kirk, who irregularly appears in SNW show up. 🤷‍♂️

For a voice why use AI? Would it really be any better than a good impersonator?

You can buy Hatsune Miku for $200. An inexperienced voice actor is $50/hr.

The answer is and always has been just one word.

Well, considering the source, I'm not going to completely rule out the possiblity that he's just salty fans like Spock more than they do Kirk.
