EHHHH its still dumb Discovery did it but frankly, Michael is VASTLY better than Sybok. I still hold Michael should have been adopted by other Vulcans but she was Sarek's prize student and he cared for her and she felt he was more of a father than her actual Vulcan parents but still, her being Spock's sister is just... a bridge too far for me. But between her and Sybok, I'll take her ANY DAY.
Science Fiction is a genre where anything can happen. Just make sure what happens is enjoyable for yourself and your audience.

I think it would have been more okay, if they didn't follow up by making her the most important person in the universe twice over.

Only twice? I felt like it was more than that.
It's OK to make mistakes as long as you don't make the same ones. If you do then you're not learning.

Haven't still been able to watch it in full, but after seeing some things on YouTube I can once again say this show isn't just for kids. It is for everyone. It doesn't talk down to the intended audience but helps them try to understand the world this show is in and does it through good, if some times odd, writing.

By the way the ended, I think, is dark yet hopeful. If the show gets a third season we may finally see the Romulan supernova event and the immediate fallout. There is still growth not just for the kids but for the returning Voyager cast as well.

I hope to get to watch it in full soon and hope others give it a chance as well.

The Spock sister thing bugs me but yeah her being the center of the universe for much of the series bothers me the most.

Actually what bothers me is just the character as a whole. As written. Maybe it's the short seasons and the way the series is written in itself, but I feel like I barely know Michael.

But the Spock sister thing was practically dropped after season 2.

Why couldn't we have characters who are related to no one. All original. SNW has a descendant of Khan for no reason.
I got nothing to say here.

Basically, it was one of the most interesting elements of her character but not due to Spock but due to her relationship with Sarek.
