I was pro-life in high school because of poor representation. Our health class brought in both pro life and pro choice people to talk to us. The pro life people gave their spiel and answered questions. Ask a new question they had a new answer. Rephrase a question and they rephrased the answer but it was basically the same answer as before. Interesting, made me look forward to the arguments from pro choice the next day.
Pro choice. . . "It is up to the individual to determine when life begins." That was verbatim the only response they gave. Frustrating, I asked for the line. When is life, alive. "It is up to the individual to determine when life begins." I yelled back at them. "Lady by that logic I could shoot you and just claim I didn't think you are alive yet and you are thirty!" Interesting visit to the guidance counselor.

Yeah, the messaging is asinine.

Part of the issue is the fact that the law regarding pregnancy is something that medical professionals are iffy about making absolute because it turns out fetal health is a difficult thing and full of complications. Which no one in the world seems capable of fucking articulating.

"The doctor and the patient need to determine this shit because we don't know what situation might come up. The fetus is braindead at 9th months, the fetus will kill the mother, the fetus will render the mother sterile if born, and so on."

Which, fine, most women who carry a fetus 9 months aren't interested in suddenly aborting it unless something damn serious is going on.

But no one is having that conversation about specifics because it's easier to say, "Baby murderer" than "maybe when a fetus can survive on its own out of the mother, we can say that's when doctors are obligated to take it out"

This isn't bad because it is a response. But a girl friend of my uncle has gotten a half dozen abortions in lieu of using a condom. It starts to seem capricious. And a friend of mine is against abortion because if his mother had easier access he would not have been born. Because she broke up with his biological father and no longer wanted his child.

It makes abortion a very touchy subject.
Pregnancy will kill mother and child? No brainer.
Pregnancy the child will not survive. No brainer.
Pregnancy will kill mother but child will survive. I think this should be the mother's choice.

Then there are arguments that are black for different reasons. One my mother brings up. The mother of a twelve year old wanted her daughter to carry her child to term. As punishment for not keeping her father off her. . .
I have heard this one since I was about fifteen so this was the 80's and all I can say every time I hear it is, WTF!?

Because we live in a world where criminality is open and no longer whispered, the dude is sitting on a fat stack of cash hidden away so he's undoubtedly expected to pay it back.

He wouldn't have been able to pardon them if they'd been executed like the Rosenbergs, which is what would have happened if the Democrats weren't gutless cowards.
