Agreed. But I also think there is truth in what Winter says if Trump were to die on the toilet between his third and fourth flushes while rage texting on his Truth Social, the power vacuum would be very large. Trump isn't just a figurehead but THE Cult Leader.
He's the cult leader of the voting block. Which we're never going to have a real election again so they no longer have any reason to care about.
Which is why Harris should have won. At least with her win, there could have been a possibility of that voting block having second thoughts whether Trump's message is a winning one.
Now, they know they can win. Not because of numbers either but because they will come out in force. Liberals just being complacent, being non committal. And so forth.
Hopefully, in less than two years liberals will actually come out in force and flip the government so Trump in his last two years is a true lame duck. Hopefully enough flipped seats to even to give him pause on doing truly damaging things.
But I suspect, they are trying to get the biggest things done before then in case that happens.

I think it's too early to give up on elections altogether. At least, I hope so.
Just need more people showing up to vote. Get off their ass and realize that while one vote may not matter, but if you have a million people think that same thing, you are down a million. So they have to believe in their vote matters and it matters who you vote for.
Currently sitting at a local bar. East and West Windsor NJ is considered a sanctuary area where cops will not actively go after illegals. Until they do something bad that gets telhem arrested. Usually this is just either fights or public intoxication.
Well I am sitting at a bar on a Friday night that usually would be packed by now. 11:23pm and it is not even close. Why? The usual crowd of south of the border is actively staying home and it's bad. Not like someone told them to stay home but they are collectively staying home.
Alot of talk. Apparently, a friend of mine Victoria, a white woman with a couple of mixed kids from a Puerto Rican father got a notice from their school. That they will try to protect the kids as much as possible.
Also talk that local restaurants are getting many no shows from the community as well.

"If I win you'll never vote again" was an actual campaign promise of Trump's.
One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.

Idle thought, but is that actually the problem?
Every time an election is coming, voting areas get redrawn like a Texas Sharpshooter. They do not count every vote versus each other. It is this carved out area had 51% votes so it is Red. And so on, then they hit 51% of the state by areas and they just call it for the State.
If you want people to vote you need enough choice for them to vote. Offering limited, terrible choices and then attacking people for not voting is burying your head in the sand. Don't blame people who aren't voting.

I used to believe that but the people who didn't vote for a shitty option over murdered in the street option are how we got here.
Those who don't vote against Hydra are voting Hydra.

I disagree - I think that sort of trying to blame non-voters is a big part of how things have ended up as they are. There's too much of "we don't have to listen, we don't have to try, because you've got to vote for us so that they don't win." Ending up in this situation points to failures of the system, not voters, and it won't improve until that lesson is learned.
