IMO, never going to happen (though I'm curious and wish it would). Unless it's a direct-to-streaming movie.
Hollywood/CBS doesn't like risk unless it's on a shoestring budget.
No one is going to bat for Tarantino given the STDebacle.
ironically, CBS (Moonves?, Kurtzman?, some dumb focus group research?) thought a prequel re-imagination was the least risky way to bring back Star Trek.
