Really? You've paid attention to what happens in the US prison-complex, right?
Not to even mention the fact, that they vote the majority of judges into office by popular election and the general make-up of US courts being literally layman's courts in the first place (the entire jury-system)?
If there's one judicial system of the big western nations, in which I have the least trust to form an educated and informed position, it's the US'.

Does anybody know what kind of standard was in place that would at some point determine that she was a competent individual? What was supposed to happen aside from her suing her father's practice? It's not as if they put people in prison with no terms as far as when they get out or whatever.
In many ways its worse than prison because a conservatorship says that you are not in your right mind and are completely unable to take care of yourself. It's not something that's meant to be put on people who have any hope of recovery.

Based on what my disability advocate friend tells me, it is laughably easy to put people in a conservatorship and frighteningly hard to get them out of it. That's part of why many disability push for getting rid of the entire institutional device.
So it seems substantially influenced on a subjective level as far as conditional release is concerned. My social concern in this case is that there should be some sort of third party provision or contract of oath standard on the conservator's side that naturally protects the right of the individual. It can't just be some random private practice that oversees the whole thing.
We're on the third page and nobody's pointed out it says "Britney's Spear" instead of "Britney Spears"?

On a slightly different note. Lately in the past couple of months Britney has been posting more and more semi nude videos or pictures of herself. Mainly hand bra pictures. And now in the past couple of days, a full on nude picture with the private parts blocked out.
I do wonder if this is somehow related to this whole mess with her father.
