Planet of the apes

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Its worth noting that the actual filming location was in Arizona around the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. The Statue of Liberty scene was shot between Port Dume and Zuma Beach, Malibu.

I do think the simplest in-universe explanation is that it was moved. After all, how likely is it that both Manhattan and New Jersey could be so completely destroyed and yet leave the statue relatively untouched?

There is a bigger problem than its location of course and that's the fact that it would be a lump of corroded copper after a thousand years of zero maintenance.

According to Life After People the whole thing would disintegrate in about 300 years. I suppose the statue of liberty in Arizona could be like tourist trap or something and made with more resistant materials.

The Statue being moved also makes sense when you remember that the latter three movies seemingly take place in LA and it's heavily implied that Caesar's settlement in those movies is supposed to be the early days of Ape City from the first two movies. Although its canonicity with the movies is questionable, the TV series also backs up a West Coast setting. None of this explains how they came across the Queensboro Plaza subway station in Beneath, but at the same time it looks nothing like the actual Queensboro Plaza station in NYC, so who knows.

They could put it right next to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City.

I watched both this film and Alien:Covenant this week and I just had to note here that the cyropods in this film are far better designed than the ''Alien'' ones as these ones actually A) wake you up when shit happens and B) have an emergency release button on the INSIDE.

Hicks and Newt would still be alive if they were on this ship - Unexplained Crashing Syndrome aside of course. BTW, in my headcanon, the reason why Taylor's ship crashes isn't because it malfunctions, its because the landing site now just happens to have a lake over it. It landed exactly where it was meant to.
