I would suggest moving to Brazil or something.
I think with that it depends on several things such as age, how long ago you were discharged, and depends if a disability is involved otherwise they would have tried to reactivate my sixy-year-old disabled mother.
Been out for almost 12 years. I am 38 though with a set of skills the Navy or the Air Force would still love to have.

And I can fire a gun without hurting myself so there is that.
I think the cut-off is 35 but don't quote me on that.

It may have changed. They have been reducing that age for awhile.

I was just joking btw because if I get sent into the military again that means Russians did a severe number on our military, the military is reactivating the boneyard planes like F-14s, we got nuked, many ships have been sunk.

Basically WW3 but worse case. That is why I said move to Brazil if I am back in.
I got nothing to say here.

Fair enough my mother would be right behind you considering she has been out of the military since the 80s.

For those who want to help out the people of Ukraine, United Help Ukraine https://unitedhelpukraine.org/ receives and distributes donations, food and medical supplies to displaced Ukrainians “affected by Russia’s invasion."

I am not that old. She would be a couple steps behind me. I left the Navy in 2010. I would be an officer if I got brought back in.

You mother would be drafted if Russians were invading cities and it would be a local militia sort of thing.

Age 60 or more at this point is literally last line of defense. As in shooting from windows guerilla warfare

My joke was that if I was brought back in, you guys should seek refuge in South America. It was just a joke.

Russians have reached the outskirts of the capital city, Kyiv.

They aren't allowing men between 16 and 60 on the grounds they can be mobilized for the defense.

Oh sorry 'cause I told the Department of Defense that I learned that from propaganda being passed around by you.

Mabus wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 5:37 pm Yup, Putin has lost his mind completely. I guess this is what happens when you rely on paranoia and brute force to hold an entire nation hostage.
He's always been a thoroughly nasty piece of work but has never been an idiot, wondering what's made him go over the edge? He seems to have a chip on his shoulder about Ukraine (due it it spurning Russia?), and having surrounded himself with sycophantic yes-men I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's come to believe his own rhetoric, and that he's always in full control of everything and nothing he does will ever be significantly opposed. More than one past dictator has ended up a victim of their hubris.

This could be the begining of the end for Putin, the fear is that he'll take everyone else out with him.
I'm still surprised by the awful state of the Russian strategy. Sure they're advancing, but apparently entire vehicle lines ran out of fuel and supplies. I guess despite all of their modernization claims, they just don't have enough money to fully improve their army.
But then again, intelligent sycophants are an extremely rare breed, so you can't have both, and Putin clearly choose to have sycophants everywhere at the expense of intelligence.
