When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.

That'll do, just as long as it doesn't end up as "I really wish I'd never seen that." I usually get around to watching it some time on Friday anyway.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 10:09 amBoth. And both deliberately. Re: Lower Decks Season 3
It's a surprisingly controversial episode because a lot of people were apparently okay with the premise being played straight.
Mostly because the premise itself was insane.
Mostly because the premise itself was insane.

That was astoundingly WTF in the best possible ways.

Erm... Warp 0.2? Does nobody realize, that Warp 1 is light-speed, more or less? So PeanutBitchWhatever is trying to escape a solar system at 20% light-speed? So to travel the distance from Sol to Pluto, would take nearly a day. Doesn't sound so bad? Well, from Sol to Proxima Centauri would take just over 21 years. Have fun with not-Wilson, I suppose.

She does mention that she's going to live a very very long time, and even 0.2 warp is much faster than randomly floating about.

It's actually closer to 0.04c, or about half a lightyear every dozen years. Or as Data would say if he was on Voyager, "I'm immortal; I don't mind a fifty year voyage home."Madner Kami wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:38 pm So PeanutBitchWhatever is trying to escape a solar system at 20% light-speed?

Well it beats the hell out of an infinite amount of time with only your mind to occupy yourself.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 2:09 pmThat is a long time to only have your own mind to occupy yourself.TGLS wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 1:48 pmIt's actually closer to 0.04c, or about half a lightyear every dozen years.
