I mean generally concerned about the potential size of the outbreak and the subsequent repercussions if people decide they just aren't going to go along with a lockdown next time. For myself, yeah, a lot of my hobbies work just fine in isolation, and I have more than enough books, movies, and games to catch up on to make things bearable (at least with the benefit of technology to keep in touch with people).Captain Crimson wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 7:47 amSo stay indoors. Don't treat this as if it's over. Keep inside, despite the tempting whether wherever you may live. I have my streaming sites, video games, and old-school music and books to keep me entertained. I don't need to go out. Even if I'm getting a little stir-crazy by now. Better that than dead, or infecting your family.ChiggyvonRichthofen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 5:33 am Good to hear things have been improving a bit, clearspira.
This thing may have reached or passed its peak in many places, but the possible effects of a second wave is a huge concern for me right now. Obviously we don't know what the long term fallout from the first wave will be (be it medically, economically, etc.) whenever it's actually over, but at least in America I'm not sure how many people will be obeying quarantine/isolation measures a second time around.

The owls are not what they seem.

I have some tabletop gaming hobbies that are in halt because those need people to play against as well as place to play and those places are closed because of pandemic but other than that I have enough things to do. Even type that are related to those but don't need interaction with other people.

Thank you for your kind words, friends. I have to say that I don't have that many people in my life so even knowing that someone is thinking of me really does help.

The thing is, I think we all are to an extent the same. Or why else would we be here? Besides, introverts rule.clearspira wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 6:57 pm Thank you for your kind words, friends. Welcome back to the land of the living. I hope your lung damage is minimal and your senses return soon. Was genuinely scared we would just...not hear from you again.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 11:41 am Well... that was unpleasant.
I lost just over half a stone of body weight in a week, I can't taste or smell a bloody thing, my lung capacity is shot and I have just spent a week on my back. But the cough and temp is gone.
I have to say, I am relatively young and relatively healthy as I work a physical job. And this bug kicked my ass. I can see how it would kill the old and unhealthy. Those of you expecting to greet something akin to the common cold are going to be surprised.

The first wave killed 5 million. Then we thought it was over and people wanted to celebrate the end of the war.
Then 30 million died.

Well, we're not in a war at this moment. Okay, yeah, we are, but nowhere near the mass mobilization of the two world wars. That might help. A little.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:24 pmYeah, I keep thinking about the erroneously named Spanish Flu.ChiggyvonRichthofen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 5:33 am Good to hear things have been improving a bit, clearspira.

With morons demanding opening businesses for selfish reasons while shouting "give me liberty or give me death" you might get similar sittuation. Something that top brass is more than happy about since they are not ones risking they lives but they are ones profiting.

Yeah, I get the point. A second wave is probably inevitable. It's why I'm not giving up my personal quarantine. I will make sure our family does not catch it.
