Possible war swinging moment in Ukraine. The boss of Wagner is threatening to pull his troops out as Russia keeps refusing to supply him with enough ammo. Other reports say that he may have lost as many as 10,000 men so far.

"They are dying so that you can gambol in your redwood cabinets," he said while addressing the government. Those are strong words from one of Putin's biggest allies.

It sounds like Russia was counting on an quick victory and had no contingency plan whatsoever so now they are scrambling to come up with some kind of strategy while trying to counter Ukraine's plans. Historically that rarely works because you need the frontlines to stabilize before you can organize any kind of major operation.

Planning and preparation for the D-Day invasion could not begin until the Allies were certain Britain was under no immediate threat from the Germans. Likewise, this was partly why the Germans canceled Operation Sealion because they wanted to be sure the British could not threaten their position in France which they couldn't and so they canceled the invasion.

Given Russia has almost certainly killed several high ranking officials over the boondoggle of this war (though one might have been a genuine suicide on her part), this seems suicidal on Wagner's head's part. Either that or he is planning his own coup.

I mean anyone high up at Russia who doesn’t hasn’t thought “but COULD I pull off a coup” is a fool at this point.

Seen some reports claiming that Ukraine's shot down one of Russia's "unstoppable" hypersonic missiles. It'd be great if that turns out to be true.

They did. And they did it with a Patriot-missile. But then again, hypersonic missiles are mostly bullshit-buzzword-bingo anyways.

Yep. Here's a general rule of thumb: Any super-duper weapon you are bragging about, chances are, the Americans already have it, know how to deal with it, can deal with it, and probably have a better version of it. That's why Russia needs like 2000 nukes because at those numbers America can "only" reliably shoot down 99% of them.

Have you ever seen that American built missile shield that they built for Israel in action? Hoo boy, that is some cool shit. Scary as hell, but cool.

The biggest defense budget in the world. Gotta spend it on something and contrary to what some may think, the US Military ain't incompetent.
