Leviathan Wakes

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Leviathan Wakes

Post by Steve »

So, did everyone enjoy Chuck's epic review of the first Expanse novel? I particularly enjoyed his use of classical and historical references, as well as the references to a certain Rolling Stones song in the fourth video and in relation to the villain of the novel. I'm hoping we eventually get reviews of the later books in the series even if they're not as big (although I admit the newest one frequently irritated me and it is my least favorite due to that).

I was listening to them while flying in Elite Dangerous VR. Added some nice atmosphere :)

I hadn't considered all the historical and classical mythology references involved in the book. It add a nice extra layer.

I tried listening to Chuck while I was working and realized I was not absorbing what he was saying. I'll give it another go when I can give it my full attention.

I loved the review and in particular learning about how the book differed from the series.

I like seeing Chuck review more books, but these videos seemed a little too heavy on recapping the story and a little too light on analyzing or commenting on it.

I have a bit of an issue and I'm not sure how to deal with it in that I'd really like Chuck to do the show itself.

I like the books and would love for him to review them but he did, again, spend much of the review recapping and I already read them.
