Do you think there would be enough demand for Sfdebris T-Shirts/ other merchandise?

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Do you think there would be enough demand for Sfdebris T-Shirts/ other merchandise?

Post by tacomoney »

(I know this is not the best section to put it, but its the closest I got).

So I was having one of those weird thought moments and it occurred to me that as far as I know the show has no merchandise. Now not everyone media individual personality needs a merchandising initiative. But I am reminded of Atop of the Fourth Wall (who I know Chuck is friends with/interacts with) and his line of Shirts on Shark Robot .

I'm wondering if it would be a profitable idea for Chuck and if there would be enough interest in it?

Just off the top of my head i could think of a few T Shirt Ideas.

* A psycho Janeway with shoulder spider telling her to eat Harry would be hilarious, sort of similar to the art graphic at the start at a number of star trek reviews.

* A numbered list on why you shouldn't fear the mutant

Before you say anything:
First of all, it's a mutant, not a monster.
Second, nothing can break those chains!
And third, since I only created one, if you kill it that's technically genocide! And technically suicide.

*Crew member of the USS Ben Sisko's Muthafuckin Pimp Hand

*One day I would like to visit Anatarcia...to punch a Penguin in the face.

Just some ideas off the top of my head, do you think there is merit in this idea everyone?

I would totally buy a shirt that had the "You should eat Harry" cartoon on it.

I'm suddenly tempted to find a clip of the "Merchandising!" scene from Spaceballs. ;)

Well it definitely needs a "You should eat Harry" shirt.

I'd also be in favor of a "Lazarus/Brahma of the Week" coffee mug if that became an option.

Admittedly a little meta and a lot niche, but I'd like a TV Guide graphic, in the center is the Star Trek block, and the rest are just "Chuck is Confused by Anime" to demonstrate our media consumption habits.

Underpants that say "Honor and Courage" might be a little too specialized for returns.

All the theorycrafting aside, I'm sure Chuck has discussed the issue with Louis and others who have such stores and the results are probably nothing more than "it's fun, not an investment"

Oh probably he has discussed it and considering the scale of his operations at this time its not profitable. But its nice thought to consider.

Thinking of more T shirt ideas, just to confuse the hell out of people on the street.

Okay I thought of more ideal world t-shirts.

I want a Dumpster Duchess shirt with Archer wearing one of those cardboard boats they put french fries in. Admittedly securing the rights to Bakula's likeness would be a challenge.

The Guardian of Forever with the quote underneath being "I'm sorry, I can only hear people who actually exist!". Because let's face it his petty rivalry with Spock is one of the best sets of recurring canon in the reviews xD

A Wheel of Fortune wheel with three choices. "Pissed off" "Screw somebody" "Fix Something"

A cartoon Picard at a fork in the road with Borg down one road and a children's birthday party down the other.

Front: A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense. Never for attack.
Back: That's what the flamethrowers are for, Ekekekekeke!

A backshot of Archer peeing out the shuttlepod door with fire and explosions visible in the background.

How about Janeway branded sex toys in the BDSM category?

So many possibilities. I'd be up for a little merch if it looked like a profitable enough enterprise to do, and I'd be happy to promote the site's name. Thanks for the thought too, if only to set my imagination going. Now I want a "What would Janeway do?" t-shirt. Aside from it having the cartoon version of her with a cigarette in her mouth and a mug of coffee in her hand, it could be surrounded by various things like pie and the number 7, but it would have to have the word "Fire!" under the graphics.

Short of anything official, there are places that do no-minimum custom shirt printing like customink.com, but one-offs aren't terribly cheap. Unfortunately, I'm not artistically gifted, so I'd probably have to stick to words.
