What the forums means to you
Well, for me personally, it's how I had a place to go after poparena kicked me out of his community, and how I got to meet and know some truly nice people here who give me hope that, maybe, for as bleak and disgusting as the world is, there's still hope for us. Even people on the other end of the political spectrum who are united with me in our most basic, common interests, even if we interpret it differently. It's a place to unwind, relax, and maybe go to when I'm feeling fed up with the world, and just geek out over nerd stuff, and for that, I'll always be super grateful to Chuck for his show. Without this forums, I never would have decided to give Babylon 5 or now Stargate a chance. It's a good place for me to feel comfortable in, the headbutts I have with the others here aside, and that's something I'll always be thankful for.

Babylon 5 sucks though.

To me this forum is mainly place were I can have conversations about things that Chuck has reviewed and point put things that he might be wrong about. Of course during this day and age forums are dying part of internet with Discord having become hugely popular way to have active community.

Same here. It's nice to have a place to talk about Trek which is (mostly) sedate.
Sadly, IMO they're not remotely equivalent, and Discord is a huge step down from both IRC and fora. But people love handing control over to others, shady marketing strategies, and being spied on, so Discord wins.
