But while this film is dumb it's not really stupid and there are a ton of little details in it that I really enjoy. The best example, IMO, is the way Thackery Binx talks between the time we see him at the start of the film and when we meet up with him when the Sanderson are brought back to life. At the start of the film Binx talks like someone from 1693 America would but when the sisters are brought back he now talks likes someone from 1993 would... Which makes sense as Binx is immortal and as society has moved on our manner of speaking has changed and anyone who has been around all that time would likely change with how the rest of the world.
Sure, he still has an "ascent" but he still sounds like someone who would speak like the other then contemporary characters would. I really get annoyed when a character who is immortal doesn't grown with the times, as if they're trapped in some sort time capsule.
But yeah, that's a nice little detail that I always enjoyed about the movie.
