My family has a business that does involve international shipping. Even if FedEx may be the better option for the big stuff nationally, they suck internationally prices wise.

Whereas, the Post Office is cheaper on low weight packages like 2lbs and below but are pricier on the big ones nationally.

But shipping internationally the Post Office is the way to go.

To put it in prespective, the amount of money my Dad spends on the Post Office they joke about renaming that braclnch after my Dad. Just a joke of course.

My old job we rarely shipped small packages internationally if it could be helped. And our FedEx deal was half the price, and often faster, than UPS. And was not held in customs like DHL.

And agreed on UPS.

One time we tried to ship two saxophones and their cases in one box. The buyer wanted it through UPS but it came out to well over $600+ but Post Office was a little over $200.

My company was closer to the USPS rate with FedEx.

USPS did not have a shipping tool. They had charts to follow and took longer to find the country code to match price variables by weight.
What is the USPS insurance for damages if you happen to know?
I ask because we rarely used USPS as it was difficult to work with for us. Rumor being they also gave no guarantee of delivery.

Interesting. My roommate said that UPS is more truck dominant while FedEx is more plane dominant. I doubt my guess would be that accurate, but that sounds like it could explain the $100 discount with FedEx when shipping intnly.
