What I Would Like for the "Big Event" for Star Wars

Post by Winter »

Star Wars: Episode 10, Directed by Stephen Spielberg, Story by George Lucas and Written by Nate Stevenson.

Will such a film ever be made? Maybe not.

Would it be good or even great movie?! No idea.

Would I scream in joy so loud that the Citizens of Mars will call to report noise complaints? Oh, HELL Yeah!!! :D

As has been mentioned Lucas is a great Ideas man, Stevenson is a great writer and likewise a great ideas man, and I want to see ONE Star Wars film Directed by Spielberg before I die (No, Revenge of the Sith doesn't count he only directed parts of the film). And going back to Stevenson, he's a huge fan of Star Wars and as I've mentioned before, made a show that is what I felt the Disney Sequel Trilogy SHOULD have been so I would be 100% behind him writing a film or at least being involved in the writing and planning out the story with Lucas.

Again, no idea if this would actually happen or if it would be good but DAMN would it be awesome if it came true.

Nope. I have no confidence in Lucas writing anything. If he did, he would need a very good editor or few that would have the power to correct issues with the draft.

Spielberg would be interesting in that this would be his first heavy science fiction film. It was would be interesting. But if you got Spielberg then that means he is involved in the script too which includes his own habits.
I got nothing to say here.

Dude, did you see Minority Report or Ready Player One. Even A.I. could be counted as Heavy Sci-Fi as while there is a fairy tale element to it's still pretty grounded with tech that could exist (until the ending). As for Lucas, I said story and I do agree that he should have some work over his ideas to better flesh them out which is why I would like Stevenson as he's proven to be a great writer. Sure, he's only written one film (and then only worked on additional story material with other writers) but given that film was Ron's Gone Wrong which is well loved, I would like to see him take on a script for SW.

Hell, I could picture him working really well with Lucas and Spielberg, both of whom are team players. So, would this work, stranger things have happened, this year in fact.

When I mean heavy science fiction I kinda meant space ships and all that fun stuff. Which I know for others means other things.

All three are unique to each other but share one thing in common. It's still based on Earth.
I got nothing to say here.

Fair point but as I pointed out Spielberg did direct parts of Revenge of the Sith and he was open to doing Episode 2. Also, and this may sound somewhat weird but, Spielberg has made films that moved around the world a lot or just a country a lot. Let's say that Raiders of the Lost Arc was a Sci-Fi film instead of an action/adventure. All that would need to be changed is Indy using laser guns instead of normal ones, have the film take place of different planets instead of different countries and replace the plans and subs with space ships.

You do realize that the best Indy films came out 30-40+ years ago? What he did then he may not do now due to influences over those multiple decades. Also changes in how you do things due to age.

Star Wars would do its best with new people. Not retrenxding on the old.
