It was a lot of fun, This almost felt like a spin-off of Wayne Family Adventures as Steph and Cass feel a lot like they do in that series. The villains aren't as good as they could have been but are good enough. For me the real highlight was the "Meet the Parents" in the middle of the series which saw Cass and Steph switch bodies (because comics) which saw Steph, in Cass's body, interacting with Lady Shiva in and Cass getting kidnapped by Steph's dad, Cluemaster.

What I enjoyed most about this series is the relationship between Cass and Steph which, even with WFA, I haven't seen much of and seeing it here made me understand why so many fans ship the two they have fantastic chemistry. I will admit that sometimes this feels like the Stephanie Show Featuring Cassandra Cain but that's mainly down to the fact that Steph is the more talkative one of the two and when you break it down they're pretty equally matched in terms of screen-time, plot impact and character development.

We also get to see Barbra in a mentor role and it's always great to see her as Oracle. Between the three she sadly does get the least amount of screen time but she still has a lot to do and she often proves herself invaluable.

With all this in mind I get why the book was sadly cancelled... Because DC did a SHIT job at advertising this series. I only found out about it by reading up on the Batman's Ho Yay page over on TV Tropes and wasn't even looking for these two and just happened to learn about this comic... And the fact that it had been cancelled no less then 3 months ago.

This was honestly shocking to learn just how badly DC handled the marketing because when I went looking for more info on the comic I barely found anything. When I looked it up on YouTube I was first directed to Linkara's Retrospective of Cass which wasn't even related to this series. I didn't actually find any marketing from DC for a solid minute of scrolling. I had gotten Three Trailers for the movie Joker, 9 for Arkham Knight and one for, of all things, the Live-Action Underdog Movie before I got anything for this comic.

It's almost as if DC was trying to hide the fact that this comic existed at all which is so weird because, again, it's really good. I mean it's not the next Court of Owls or Billionth Joker story but it was good. Honestly my only issue with it is that it takes a while to get going but the characters are enjoyable enough that it feels like things are progressing well enough.

I honestly say give this series a shot. It's enjoyable and characters are really likeable. The art is a little weak but nothing terrible and still has a lot of personality. Solid 8 out of 10.

What's odd though is that DC has put a LOT into Wayne Family Adventures which is officially publish by DC which not only highlights the fact that Bruce has like 7 kids and most of them are adopted but also makes it clear that Damien is Arabic, Cass in Japanese/Caucasian Mix yet has yet to point out that Dick is Romani (though that could be that it's just not something that's come up yet).

So, I don't know. The comics themselves are afraid to address it but WFA has no problem so maybe the world is just crazy and we should just enjoy the ride.

WFA isn't a numbered, physical, book, so DC editorial probably isn't paying attention to it.

And this is why the films mostly just focus on Batman and Alfred. The two that didn't are considered to be the two worst. Linkara is fond of noting just how often the "Batman is a loner" stories just don't work.

Yeah but the dcu uses false locales unlike marvel, so I would think it was more a matter of keeping stuff like that vague.

Depends on how you define "Batman is a loner" stories. If you mean just Batman and Alfred (also Gordon) stories, I can think of some truly excellent comics where the rest of the family don't get as much as a mention. If it's the ones where he loudly protests he's totally a loner, and tries to push away anyone who tries to help in an overly petulent manner, then sure fair point.
