So I Explored Beyond the Edges of the Map in Spider-Man 2 To Test a Theory

Post by Winter »

Thanks to a glitch in the game it's possible to get above the map of the game and while I rarely use these tricks myself (mainly because I suck at doing them) this time I decided to go out of my way to do so because I wanted to test a theory of mine.

As I've mentioned before I suspect that SM2 will receive an Expansion Pack that will mostly likely feature Carnage as the main antagonist that will no doubt include new suits, skills, suit tech and abilities. However, I was more interested in how the game would change up the world itself as while all those points I mentioned would be fun what would most likely get fans really excited for such a DLC would be to add new areas to explore on the map and suspected where the map would be expanded upon.

On the right side of the map as you open it there are areas that you can go to on the menu map but not in the game world unless you use this glitch. And if you use this glitch and head there these areas are a bit more detailed then other locations beyond the invisible wall. They're not complete, some of the walls have huge white spots on them, you often fall threw the floor and more there were more then one car that was just hovering above the ground. However, this is still more detailed then other parts beyond the map and some locations are clearly designed to include combat and stealth. Also if you try to fast travel to any of these locations you get a message from the game that you need to complete all activities in the area in order to unlock fast travel. Try to fast travel to other locations beyond the map and it will just say "Invalid Location" so it seems this will be areas we can go to later when the DLC is released.

The most interesting location was this area above Queens. Let me show the map to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

The place I'm talking about is above 23 and on the right of 20. This location is one of the most detailed areas outside the map and it's creepy as Hell. It's filled with abandoned buildings that have all been overgrown. This honestly would be even more unsettling at night during a storm and I get the feeling this is going to be tied to Carnage's origin or will be a location he's hiding at.

But yeah my best is given how much more detail the areas on the right side of the map have I wouldn't be surprised if this is where we're the map will be expanded upon in any and all DLCs later.
