Twitter being toxic as usual. A Japanese artist made thread sharing a moment when a black user thanked them for drawing black characters, which sounds really wholesome and they actually enjoy drawing POC characters, only for them to get harassed by weebs who accused them of being "brainwashed by Western ideology activists", others going as far as to accuse the artist of not being a "true Japanese" because their English is really good and because they consider themselves non-binary.
The frustrating thing is that this isn't the first time this happened.
Like how this crowd harrassed video game director/writer Kotaro Uchikoshi for including LGBTQ references in his games.
Or how these people also called out mangaka Kamome Shirahama, author/artist of the bestselling manga Witch Hat Atelier for being "brainwashed by Western ideology".
And yet there has been no coverage on incidents like this. Excuse my skepticism but if it were the other way round, you would have seen ton of videos and articles about how "Woke Activists Are Harrassing A Japanese Creator For Not Being Woke Enough".
Guess videos about the anti-woke crowd harrassing Japanese artists doesn't get views.

Huh, the artist has a blue check and the bigots mostly don't. You usually see the reverse.
When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.

Yeah common thing for Japanese artists, Twitter was really a hub for them but because of quirks in how the creator economy works there they really need algorithmic boosts in a way their American counterparts can afford to skip

Pardon, but what media are you talking about? Of course right wing outlets would report on that, but that’s what they’re expected to do for their audience as that’s their political agenda.BBally81 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 1:08 pm And yet there has been no coverage on incidents like this. These are just trolls and people aren’t nerdy enough to care about that politically unless you’re specifically writing articles to please Ron desantis.
