Re: Assurances

Chuck, I found your show 10 years ago and it has never failed to entertain and more often than not, educate. I don't always agree with you, but you explain your logic so I can understand your perspective. That is something many reviewers do not do. They simply belt out "THIS IS STUPID!!!!!!!" as if ...

just had an amusing thought...

So I have a google home at my desk. It sits attached to a shelf directly over my workstation. When I'm working on a project I like to have something playing. Very often I'll throw on some of Chuck's reviews. Which means I'll have several hours of Chuck's voice. And of course Google Home is listening...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

3. The Family of Blood's meat puppets were brain dead by all appearances. Yes, the Family of Blood abducted, murdered and mutilated 4 people to create their meat puppets. So Tennant made them immortal and put them in prisons. They can't possibly excape from those prisons. The only way they could ex...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

The problem is: 1. Humanity doesn't stand for itself and needs the Doctor to bail itself out. It's not like they don't try to defend themselves--it's that they can't. It's the brave and heroic defense of Jacksonville, Florida against the Nazis. He's needed whether humans like it or not. I'm sorry i...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

I think the Doctor overstepped himself in getting her kicked out. So before I say anything else, I want to say that I agree with you. Now the rest of what I am going to say: That's the crucial difference between Tennet's doctors and Eccleston's Doctor. Eccleston's Doctor loved Earth for what it is ...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

No one is saying the Sycorax were decent blokes. It's just: 1. Harriet's rationale doesn't make much sense since you can't shoot someone in the back to be taken seriously. Why not? I mean, as Garak said: https://i.imgur.com/N0CMZto.png 2. Using the Doctor to do it could lead to one of his epic funk...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

Jones returned in the episode 'The Stolen Earth' where she sacrificed herself against the Daleks to enable the Doctor to find them. Not to save them, but to find them. Let me be clear on this point. Jones' sacrifice did nothing to affect the Doctor's ability to save the people of the earth beyond h...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

So all she's achieved is alienating the Earth's closest (arguably ONLY) ally against alien invaders and using a weapon that wasn't useful against the Sycorax until they were walking out the door. It's hard for me to take her seriously as making a correct choice when her "heroic" deed is stabbing a ...

Re: Doctor Who: Harriet Jones

When I originally asked Chuck to review the episodes that comprised Harriett Jones' arc, I included my thoughts about the character. No point in re-hashing what I've already said so I'll just Copy and paste what I originally sent Chuck on the matter: Jones returned in the episode 'The Stolen Earth' ...

No, but then again neither did the writers most of the time.
