Oh and good news as well! The UK found some people who are willing to become and work as HGV-drivers! Downside is, most of these people were bus-drivers and now there's a bus-driver shortage in the UK in addition to the ongoing shortage of HGV-drivers.

This is how the labour market works. Look back in time to the Black Death, where afterwards things improved significantly for most people due to there being "not enough" manpower.
