As someone who grew up in Eastern Germany in the 90s, I have a lot of issues with the brown sauce.

As an American it just being a sauce that isn't sweet is novel.
One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.

Buffalo sauce. Which reigns supreme and demands your apology.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 12:51 am As an American it just being a sauce that isn't sweet is novel.
I got nothing to say here.

Good point, I wasn't thinking of hot sauces at all. I give no apology to Buffalo sauce but do beg Tobasco and Scorpion peppers for their forgiveness.McAvoy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 2:06 amBuffalo sauce. Hot sauces are not just an American thing though we do love them. Buffalo sauce though is purely American. Named after the city Buffalo, not thd animal and no Buffalos do not have wings. Just a FYI for our friends outside the states.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 2:19 amGood point, I wasn't thinking of hot sauces at all. Frank's red hot generally works well specifically for chicken wings where you take each wing one at a time. I would never use it for ribs or even just regular chicken. Adding butter though carries the spice much more smoothly.McAvoy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 11:03 pmHot sauces are not just an American thing though we do love them. A world on fire.

I had always wondered about that...!

It does. Me personally Frank's is very good on eggs. But yeah it's the wrong sauce for beef or pork.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 4:17 amFrank's red hot generally works well specifically for chicken wings where you take each wing one at a time. Yeah that's what I was first thinking, it's good as a topping condiment for like eggs or stir fry.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:44 amIt does. Me personally Frank's is very good on eggs. Never used it with stir fry. I got better hot sauces than that. But I use it on fries, eggs, Mac and cheese, chicken sandwiches, and even some pastas. But I did get hot oil for pasta that works much better.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 2:38 amYeah that's what I was first thinking, it's good as a topping condiment for like eggs or stir fry.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:44 amIt does.
