His behavior in The Last Jedi versus The Force Awakens is more or less the same though in the second movie, it's been amped up. The only time he showed that aggressive emo tantrum was when he bashed that console when Rey escaped in the Force Awakens.

I might be wrong. I really havent rewatched these movies after home viewing after seeing it in the theaters.
