That's the thing though. So they bring these boxes to planets to conquer them. Steppenwolf comes a planet that already has them. It can be argued that he was called by the Mother Boxes and it would be like getting a phone call from a unknown number and turns out it's a long lost friend.
I woukd have rewatch it again and compare the two appearances of Darkseid. His youngee version just seems to be shirtless where he is wearing more armor in the present. His harsher appearance could be explained due to different lighting.

that should have been the movie poster tagline
"Believe me, there’s nothing so terrible that someone won’t support it."

They will. Undoing good will once they earn it is what DC movies do. .-.

Kinda looks like they are trying to move away from the Snyder DC universe anyway.

I am not one of those fans. Though I can see where it would work and where it doesn't. Honestly a Superman movie shouldn't be one but I do think there should have been a second Superman movie before you even consider killing Superman.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:22 pmI hope so, the fabs of the snyder cut are the same type of people that basically made mainstream comics so edgy and dark that there is no new generation.
And I'd rather have Doomsday being sent by Darkseid to kill Superman than some sort of idiotic plan hatched by a maniac Lex Luthor/ Riddler.

Oh, the DCEU could've been such a good cinematic universe - instead we got three very boring movies, one really good movie, the despised one (Justice League - the Whedon Cut - which I still like), and with Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey three very entertaining flicks. I still need to watch WW1984 - and then there is the Snyder Cut.McAvoy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 4:43 amI am not one of those fans. Though I can see where it would work and where it doesn't. Why on earth are people liking this movie? It's dark, it's edgy, it's boring and all in all it sucks the fun out of everything. I don't get it.
By the way - concerning plot holes, there is one thing that irks me, if it happens in movies, that are supposedly "grounded in reality", or at least take itself so super seriously as the Nolan-Verse Batman did or the Snyder-Verse Superman and Batman.
I have no problem witht he exact same plothole in the Whedon-Cut, since it doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't force me to take it seriously.
So, the former-blue-red-now-dark-dressed-elefant in the room:
Clark is still dead to the world, right?
I mean, they buried him in the end of BvS, they put him in a coffin, put a lid on it, let the coffin down into the earth, a cleric said something, the whole town of Smallville was there, mourning the loss of their most famous son, Bruce paid for the funeral, there is a gravestone, reading "Clark Joseph Kent" - so Clark is dead.
But at the end of Justice League, not only is Superman back, but also Clark, the dude, who was put in a coffin, whose grave was opened and whose corpse has gone missing.
And now, Clark is back at the farmhouse, since Bruce bought the bank.
See, in the Whedon-Cut, I don't ask questions like this, since, it's a comic-book-movie, with funny - some people might call them cheesy - oneliners, with triumphant music, with Bats helping Barry to conquer a panic attack, and it's an all in all "feel-good-movie".
And I don't ask questions like "Erm, how does this work" in movies, that make me feel good, that let me have fun.
However I tend to ask questions like this, when it comes to movies, that take themselves more serious than they have every right to be.
I ask "Why doesn't anyone notice, that the tumbler is a Wayne Enterprise-Project? Is the W.E.Press department that bad, that no one released a picture of the Tumbler, when it was in development? Did no one at the press department say "Hey, Wayne Enterprises has a contract with the military - let's talk about this?"
I ask: Why doesn't anyone recognize Bruce Wayne, when he is doing his "around the world"-thing?" Sure, he has a beard, but - come on, it's Bruce Wayne. No one recognizes him?
See, in movies like "Batman & Robin" or "Catwoman" I have no problem with something like the "Bat Credit Card" or lines like "That was the day, I died" - since come on, it's a comic book movie, don't try to take it seriously.
But if Man of Steel, BvS or ZSJL tell me "Hey, take me seriously" - I can be a very nitpicky kinda guy.
Re: AU Question: Justice League 2017 Snyder Cut Reception
The dark, grim and with saturation turned down low is a thing that Snyder likes to do. It's just like Abrams lens flares/nostalgia themes. Or Michael Bays military porn, odd angles and explosions.
Hell if you modify your setting on your TV or media player on the computer to pump up the saturation in Man of Steel it doesn't feel so dark. Just something as simple as that.
I am not entirely sure of Synder's whole vision whether he wanted to flesh out the characters more in more movies or it was his idea to accelerate it. Or the common idea that it was the studio that wanted to do that to catch up with Marvel.
You could have easily had Man of Steel then Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and perhaps a Batman movie to tie it together. This is before we even get to the Justice League. And maybe the entire time you bring in some Easter Eggs or foreshadowing of a dark and powerful ancient enemy.
Right now the DCEU is a mess.

frankly if they were smart they will stick to solo movies until they find someone who can lead a share universe correctly, and Snyder isn't that man. If Warner bros was smart they black list him and slowly walk away from his projects. Heck there been rumors' that giving in to the snyder cut fans might harm future projects.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 2:42 am The dark, grim and with saturation turned down low is a thing that Snyder likes to do.
