Babylon 5 is now on free streaming

Post by Durandal_1707 »

On the (sketchy looking, but actually legit—owned by Verizon) site Go90.

https://www.go90.com/shows/babylon5

Only the series is there, though, not the pilot movie. And yet I cannot decide whether that is good... or bad.

I rewatched the Severed Dreams trilogy, and am now watching the Earth Civil War plotline from season 4. The show, of course, still holds up.

Following this post I used it to watch "Eyes." I plan to watch the whole series but I'll do it on DVD / if it's ever streaming on Netflix. But I really needed my fix of young Jeffrey Combs.

I thought the show was going to drift aimlessly through hyperspace after falling off Netflix.

Thiis is great news, at least WB is still syndicating it somewhere... or is it some kind of reverse-widget legacy rights Verizon got from buying ex-Time beau AOL?

Has anyone else thought about this if the Vorlons weren't stopped they could have destroyed Earth and Mars. On Earth President Clark made a deal with the Shadows and on Mars there was a buried Shadow ship.

Oh yes.

The obvious irony is that the two Old One factions each had servant races - and each race ended up being the opposite of what each faction wanted, because of balance. The Minbari rebelled against the Vorlons and killed every observer on their world, while the Drakh became so loyal and sycophantic that they had no goals of their own.

Between the Shadows destroying races they thought were too Vorlonlike, and the Vorlons destroying races they thought had been tainted, there wouldn't have been much left of galactic civilization. And what races remained would have ultimately ended up just like the Minbari and Drakh, not what either side wanted at all.

It's subtly suggested that this sort of thing had been going on for quite some time. The Dilgar sun mysteriously entering a nova progression, for example, could actually have been engineered by either side.
