Is Netflix style of premiere die now?

What I mean is the Netflix style of release all the episode of a season of a show at once dead, in favor of the more traditional release every episode once a week (With the exception to the premiere). I admit I only have D+ but haven't heard anyone else try the Netflix style.

The problem with Netflix style is that its fast food.
You don't stop and savour a McDonalds. You roll up, stuff it down, and don't think about it ever again.
But weekly shows are different. They are restaurant meals. There is anticipation. There is water cooler talk on Monday morning. There is a returning audience each week who might try other menu items whilst they are there. There is recurring revenue.

Something else you can't do on Netflix is cliffhanger very well. Its an old but very effective trick.

Personally, I think squandering a whole series in a day is potentially disastrous for your product.

That is fair, my main problem is you can't talk about an episode or speculate without the ending being know.

The only time that happen I think was 4Kids for a while but I can't remember for sure, and the Steven bomb format.

I'm the only person I've met that likes daily episodes.

Contrary to clearspira's take, I think the weekly episode format works better for scheduled broadcasting, maybe depending on the broadcast network format or not (HBO TV format works fine as far as I remember).

D+ weekly episodes don't seem to be that well received; though imo they are effective with their outline of production. As long as it's a punctual release, then you probably don't have to rely on 26-episode formats.

I feel that daily is too quick as that doesn't give much time to discuss, and if your audience are not religiously following it's easy to miss riding the hype wave. Would be interesting to see someone trying a 3-4 day schedule though as that's less of a commitment while also keeping people more hooked than a weekly.

Which is better ultimately depend son the show.

Waiting a week between episodes works for something that is Episodic or semi-episodic. But few Western TV shows are still written that way. If you're gonna write each season to be like a 10 hours movie, then no single episode by itself ever feels like a satisfying experience.

I mean if they are so clsoe together then you have to worry about longer wait between seasons. one episode over a week for five weeks mean the next seasons won't be horribly long.
