I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Always love this kind of goofy fourth wall breaking humor.
Jen is a really fun character. Bit of that Tilly/Entrapta energy going on but a lot more grounded than either.

I am baffled at the hatred this is getting from some certain circles.
It's a silly lawyer show for superheroes.
You know, what She-Hulk is.

The only hate I've seen is from the exact people everyone knew was going to hate it the day they announced it. The "it has a woman lead so it's woke and anti-man" crowd.

Re: She/Hulk: Attorney at Law
I just find it weird how Jen can break the 4th wall. I get it with Deadpool but the MCU has been played mostly straight and now a character can just talk to the audience. I know this is something that was done in the comics but from what I remember this hasn't been done in the comics for a while and didn't she go through some sort of "arc" to do this?
Correct me if I'm wrong but just on the subject of the MCU it's just strange seeing a character doing this. I would have preferred a bit more buildup to her doing this.

They had everyone leaning as hard on the fourth wall as you can without technically breaking it in Endgame already, it just doesn't seem like a big step to me.
But I love this kind of self-referencing Muppetesqe bit so I'm biased.

Re: She/Hulk: Attorney at Law
Well it's her own series, so the fourth wall breaking probably be more than a crossover series or movie where she isn't the main character. So it's dialed up here since that was her thing in the comics.Winter wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 2:06 am I just find it weird how Jen can break the 4th wall. That and the series so far is far more goofy than other ones.
I got nothing to say here.

She Hulk was first created back in 1980. Y'know, back when 90% of comic book fans were male? And she was wildly successful.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 1:29 am The only hate I've seen is from the exact people everyone knew was going to hate it the day they announced it. So... you can peddle this "guys hate her because of sexism" line as much as you like, that is the standard card to play whenever one of these properties fail after all, but then you have to explain the original She Hulk's popularity first. Good luck with that.

I didn't say "guys", I said a specific group of guys. A loud minority, but a small enough one that companies are ignoring them.clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 11:00 amShe Hulk was first created back in 1980. But yes I did mean you. You specifically. Because you were going to do that exact rant before I said something and stole your thunder, weren't you?

I mean she's a funny sexy Amazon. The appeal to male readers is obvious.clearspira wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 11:00 am She Hulk was first created back in 1980. Y'know, back when 90% of comic book fans were male? And she was wildly successful.

Which is why the constant hatred of the show is baffling.

Maybe due to the nature of the internet a bunch of the less intelligent men can gather up and make noise canceling out anyone that have something value to say.
