Star Trek: Lower Decks - Veritas

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Star Trek: Lower Decks - Veritas

I'm enjoying the Lower Decks reviews. My views on stuff and Chuck's don't always line up but I'm finding that we have pretty much the same views here.

Pity there's not been much comment, but then I've not added any so I can't really complain.

They do seem to do better on youtube in term of responses which is something.

Was a nice review. Reminded me of the one he did for Bliss on Voyager but more complementary.

I think the Lower Decks reviews are in a tough spot, conversation-wise. Not old enough to be bringing up old topics for re-examination, but not timely enough to be part of the initial discussion either.

I've been enjoying them. I usually comment directly on the videos for these.

Yeah, not much to say about this one. It embraces the weirdness of Trek without trying to be wink wink, nudge nudge. And more importantly, it doesn't have the characters being absolutely terrible to each other.

I mean, the entire thing is premised on the audience assuming it's an Alien Trial episode. Most of the winking is pretty well done in this one, but the ruse component is completely nonsensical. It only really makes sense as a genre-savvy inversion crossing the fourth wall (which they lampshade themselves at the end).

That's really key. It's actually a joy to watch because of this.
