I'm as shocked that they overturned it as I am dismayed that such a ruling was even necessary.

Agreed. While I admit yes there are illegal imagination problems putting razor wire in is NOT the way to solve it. All that does is cause more deaths.

Abbott has responded by crossing his arms and saying "nuh-uh, don't wanna."

This will definitely end well.

15 states have joined in and are declaring they'll send troops to aid Texas. Whoo boy.

More deaths is the point of the exercise. Cruelty is always the point, with Republicans.

"Joe Biden Faces Growing Calls to Federalize Texas National Guard."

Fun fact: the last time a President did that was Eisenhower in 1957, when then Govenor of Arkansas Orval Faubus refused to comply with the ruling of Brown v Board of Education, causing the "Little Rock Crisis".

I hope Biden DOES do it and puts Abbott in his place.

It's more childish than anything. Putting up more wire that the feds will immediately take back down. Just trying to sound tough to his base.

Just trying to sound tough to his base seems to be the entire republican platform in Texas and Florida.

Apparently, several other Governors have pledged their national guards to support Texas. Please tell me this isn't going to escalate further. ._. It's time for me to get off social media and go to the bar.

Rule of thumb whatever emotion you have that is raging at that moment tends to get magnified with drinking.

Anyway, this is just basically a political ploy to galvanize people to vote Republican because they will solve a problem that really isn't a big of a problem as they are making. Yes there is an issue at the border and we are still turning majority of them away. It's not like we are letting them in by the tens of thousands.
I got nothing to say here.
