I used to be pro-life back in my fundamentalist phase but a little after it. What caused me to reconsider my position politically on abortion was the realization the people making these laws weren't actually informed about medical necessity, brain activity, fetal brain death, intrauterine fetal death, and a bunch of other shit before sexual assault and incest issues. Basically, a huge number of the people involved have interest in doing the research that might contradict their positions.

You will not achieve that being born to someone who does not want you. Apparently, ''pro-life'' does not mean ''pro-living''.

So, Trump seemed to make everyone in the US a woman. Funny, he seemed so anti trans but to declare hundreds of millions as trans is very progressive of him. He's dead wrong, but VERY progressive. I'm certain he had very good biologists define what a man and woman are, and not Matt Walsh, a man who thinks 9 year old girls are a sexual delight.

Fun Fact: Christian Protestantism didn't have much interest in pro-life and the Southern Baptist church considered abortion a right of women (with her husband's permission--let's not be too complimentary) as a way to differentiate themselves from Catholicism. Phyllis Schalfly and the Reverend Jerry Falwell then decided to use abortion as a wedge issue to try to get de-segregation laws repealed regarding private Christian schools.

(The logic being, "If a judge is crazy enough to overturn abortion, he's crazy enough to overturn desegregation in schools.")

The GOP paid a shit ton of money to televangelists to whip up the public against abortion and it took on a life of its own.

This was Phyllis' attempt to get on the Reagan cabinet. Ironically, it failed miserably because this and her opposition to the Equal Rights amendment meant that Phyllis was hated by middle class white women that Reagan wanted on his side.

Phyllis died writing a book praising Trump as the savior of America from immigration.

They're not surprised, and they don't care that they're hypocrits. If they wanted to prevent abortions, they'd be in favor of birth control instead of attacking it, the way my former senator Bob Casey was. Ideological consistancy is for people who haven't chosen to keep lock step with the new Nazi party.

I was pro-life in high school because of poor representation. Our health class brought in both pro life and pro choice people to talk to us. The pro life people gave their spiel and answered questions. Ask a new question they had a new answer. Rephrase a question and they rephrased the answer but it was basically the same answer as before. Interesting, made me look forward to the arguments from pro choice the next day.
Pro choice. . . "It is up to the individual to determine when life begins." That was verbatim the only response they gave. Frustrating, I asked for the line. When is life, alive. "It is up to the individual to determine when life begins." I yelled back at them. "Lady by that logic I could shoot you and just claim I didn't think you are alive yet and you are thirty!" Interesting visit to the guidance counselor.

Because we live in a world where criminality is open and no longer whispered, the dude is sitting on a fat stack of cash hidden away so he's undoubtedly expected to pay it back.
