As an aside, I don't really care what animal they try to bring back, and that goes double if we ourselves were responsible for wiping it out to begin with. My biggest fear is that one day some idiot will bring back an early hominid.
The other hominids DO also fall under "we ourselves were responsible for wiping it out". Our distant ancestors weren't better people than us.
Yeah, from what I understand homo sapien may be involved in some pre historic genocide involving just not the Neanderthals. Though even scientists aren't sure how Neanderthals died out though.

Just a interesting thought that there were other human-like species out there.
Most modern humans have at least some Neanderthal genetics so it's arguable if they even did die out.
Yeah, that's always my theory: the two species merged through frequent interbreeding until the Neanderthals as a distinct species just... faded away.

So, what bigoted white folks THINK will happen if they let non-white people... exist...

That is the theory. They were bred out in combination of being killed out. I have read alot about them though. High pitched voices, bigger brains etc.
I got nothing to say here.

Part of the problem according to a documentary that I saw was their changing enviroment.

The Neanderthal were adapted for ice age Europe, the Sapiens for nice and toasty Africa. The latter had a running start once the ice started to recede. The Neanderthal just could not adapt quickly enough.

But yeah, all evidence points to them as having as much potential as we did. Got to wonder what the world would be like today if they lived but my bet is that we would have spent 10,000 years at war. As I said before, humans cannot get along with ourselves let alone another breed of humans. The racism would have been stellar.

What I have seen or read it might have been a lack of invention on their part, that they were not as good as home sapiens. Homo sapiens made better weapons and better at hunting. Traps etc.

We will never really know of course.
I got nothing to say here.

We're all descendants of both groups so calling one "us" and the other "them" is kinda weird, honestly.

Not really. Homo sapiens of 100,000 years ago are still the same humans as we are now. Some small changes like smaller jaw size or less tendons in the forearm. Some say that our brain is getting smaller too.

The interbreeding with Neanthrals would be entirely be on the European Homo Sapiens. It won't be there in Africa or Asia for example.
I got nothing to say here.
