The Pope Has died.

Post by McAvoy »

Well I think we all know by now. A day after going around and meeting with people on Easter. Also apparently JD Vance was the last dignitary to see him.

So cause of death was from a stroke and heart failure. I don't think that was related to his hospital stay earlier.
I got nothing to say here.

Heard Vance's religious opinions and died of second-hand embarrassment.

MTG said a evil died today. No surprise there, she has zero tact and everything Pope Francis has done in the past decade she would be against. Woke Pope and all.

I remember when Fox News said the same thing when Fred "Mister" Rogers died. I think that's when it first sank in that there's something just fundamentally broken in these people. Now of course we know what it is since they openly talk about thinking empathy is a sin.

OK I have to look this up. Mister Rogers was a Saint with a capital S. What would cause you to even think he is bad in any kind of way.

It was a generic "millennials are entitled because they don't hate themselves enough" thing.

Actually looking it up it started in Wall Street Journal and was a bit after he died, that was my mistake. Got it mixed up with Westboro Baptist protesting his funeral, because of course they did.

Oh Westboro Baptist. That's a bit of a blast from the past. Haven't heard much from them in awhile. I am sure they are just nuts as then as now, just the media doesn't care anymore. Or my algorithm skips them.

Their leader died and the Overton window shifted so much they're just mainstream Republicans by 2025 standards.

I've always been a bit divided on the whole concept of the Pope. He seems like a good enough guy, but you do not need to look too far into the politics of how a pope is elected to know that God is not involved anywhere down the line. It is an old boys club for old boys who enjoy sitting upon a golden throne.

I doubt that Jesus the man or Jesus the Son of God really would have approved tbh.

Agreed. Not appointed by God, just appointed by men in funny hats in a near Democratic process. That can be corrupted as it has been done in the past.

Pope Francis from what I can tell was a good one and let's hope the next one continues that progress.
I got nothing to say here.
