On the Doomsday Clock dial alongside Ukraine V Russia and Israel V the Middle East we can now add two nuclear equipped enemies who loathe each other.
In response to a terror attack two weeks ago India has bombed the Pakistani border and Pakistan has shot down five Indian jets.
Pakistan is calling this an act of war and is vowing a like for like response.
The US is calling for restraint - for all the good that is. Here is what happens when the title of "leader of the free world" is dropped so easily. They ain't going to listen.

Admittedly, things appear hotter than usual, but there've been 4 "proper" wars and a myriad of minor and major clashes between India and Pakistan since 1947. The breaking point you need to look out for this time around is, if
A) Pakistan retaliates for the strikes of last night with more than a symbolic barn in nowhere being blown up by a missile strike and
B) India shutting off the water supply.
A will preceed B. If B happens, shit actually has hit the fan in a quite likely terminal way.
A might not even happen, because India lost an uncomfortable amount of planes last night, so Pakistan might already call that a day, because this clash cost India already quite a sum and Pakistan has or is about to return the captured pilot(s) already at this point. Hopefully, this will just be another day at the Attari-Wagah-Border-Crossing...

Yeah I think everyone got their pound of flesh I think to satisfy everyone. I doubt throwing nukes at each other will happen considering they will incur the wrath of China and Russia for potentially sending radioactive fallout into their borders. Also no one really wins in a full on nuke out.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 2:10 pm Admittedly, things appear hotter than usual, but there've been 4 "proper" wars and a myriad of minor and major clashes between India and Pakistan since 1947. India and Pakistan wouldn't even be concerned with what the US says either. Just China and Russia.
I got nothing to say here.
Re: India V Pakistan
So there is a ceasefire! Hooray for sanity and...
Hold on, I'm getting a report... OK, so India says Pakistan broke it!

Hmmm last time I heard Trump and his administration negotiated a ceasefire.
I got nothing to say here.
Re: India V Pakistan
I was being a tad quippy, but clashes are continuing despite the ceasefire.

Ladies and gentleman, our local average US-American... Countries bordering each other sharing a heritage? Maybe even having been one country at times? Maybe having been more than 2 countries at times? Maybe existing as two seperate states with varying ownership of the borderlands? How could this happen? Cats and dogs living in peace! The endtimes!BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 6:17 am I had no idea India and Pakistan share so much heritage.

Look up the Partition of India there has been bad blood/history between those two for longer then most of us have been alive (I admit I didn't learn about it in school I learned about it from an episode of Doctor who).BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 6:17 am I had no idea India and Pakistan share so much heritage.

Pakistan is basically the second half of India.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 6:17 am I had no idea India and Pakistan share so much heritage.
The British Empire only technically gave the Indians back their country when they left.
