ICE agents set trap for immigrants seeking legal residency

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. You forgot step 3: wait for a decade or two before a response, which will likely be negative.

This might sound stupid and I might be mixing up laws but wouldn't this be entrapment? Thus illegal?

No. Entrapment is where law enforcement entices you to commit an illegal act. If I, as a cop, call you up and offer you 50000 dollars to whack someone, and you agree, then my arrest is going to get thrown out of court because while you committed an illegal act by agreeing, there would be no crime without my first act.

In THIS case, the immigrants have already committed an illegal act by coming or remaining in the country in violation of the law. So entrapment doesn't apply.

As I've been told, if the situation in South Africa is not enough to warrant asylum, then the situation in Mexico sure as hell doesn't.

Why would applying for asylum or citizenship INSIDE the US warrant a faster or more positive response as apposed to outside?
