Two million women and girls in WWII. Two million. Endlessly sexually abused or coerced. And then when the truth comes out, people call them criminals simply for the crime of being German and alive and cite "war trauma" for those poor men rather than looking on them as predators the way they are today, even here. Raised in a toxic, patriarchal culture that encourages male violence. And no, it wasn't all of them. Something like 10% to 50% of their forces were the guilty ones. But that's instituted violence against women, some of the worst crimes against women and girls in human history, on par with the Holocaust, and at least they got a voice. These poor broken souls didn't, not until near the end of their lives.
