That might apply if he was being subjected to criminal charges in a criminal trial. But he wasn't. He was in a job interview.
It's not a non-sequiter because it's an example of how somebody accused of rape...does not get their life ruined, while the person doing the accusing risks a shitload blowback and punishment. It shows how high the stakes are for the accuser, and how low for the accused.

The inference was that because the good doctor is getting death threats, false accusations do not really ruin men's lives. That is a non-sequitur. If she had received no death threats, that would not make the effect of false accusations worse than they are. If she had been murdered, that would not have made the effect of false accusations less severe than they are.

Don't paint me as just going through a phase. I've struggled with a horrible existential crisis over the past three years. You know nothing about me.
What are the actual numbers for the statistics here? I read somewhere that it's 200,000 rapes per year, 100,000 of which only go reported, 4% of which are false, yes, and 9% of which affect men, but the emphasis on the latter is that it is probably higher since men also don't underreport and it may be higher since men are societally pressured to be strong and lead the way. I'm sure both left and right will counter with their own figures, though, to suit their ends.
