Or hardcore patriots, whatever. It would be an interesting angle to explore.
I only watch the cinematic universe. I am unfamiliar with the comics.

Are mutants an ethnic group with their own language? But i guess that fits the hardcore patriot label.FaxModem1 wrote:Well, Magneto established Genosha, an all mutant country.

Also, in X-Men: First Class, Sebastian Shaw kind of wanted to cause WWIII so that only Mutants would survive and create a world of only superior mutants with all humans dead. Did you miss that?

That does not have anything to do with nationality or protecting a country.FaxModem1 wrote:Also, in X-Men: First Class, Sebastian Shaw kind of wanted to cause WWIII so that only Mutants would survive and create a world of only superior mutants with all humans dead. Did you miss that?

how exactly are you defining ethnicity for the purpose of this discussion?

I'm guessing a Kurdish mutant going around blasting ISIL or a Ukrainian mutant assassinating Putin would probably fit the bill. Don't know if such a thing exists though.J!! wrote:how exactly are you defining ethnicity for the purpose of this discussion?

Common language, culture and stated identity.J!! wrote:how exactly are you defining ethnicity for the purpose of this discussion?

I think the idea was that them being mutants and shunned by all the non-mutants in whatever country or region they happened to be born in gave them something in common and thus a common purpose. Kind of like how alien invasions in sci-fi are generally described as bringing humanity together for the common goal of survival.

But it does not have to go down that way...Admiral X wrote:I think the idea was that them being mutants and shunned by all the non-mutants in whatever country or region they happened to be born in gave them something in common and thus a common purpose.
