Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

I admit I never really got this growing up, though Jessica IS unreasonably hot. Regardless of how distant it is to my heart, it does lead to me making funny voices when I play as Hamburg in EU:IV and all the text prompts tell me "my Bergermeister". Or maybe that whole TSA taking away all the toys was just decades ahead of its time.

I guess I can't fault putting this above Rudolph...at least in this one the authoritarian fascist is probably the bad guy. xD

Seriously Rudolph is one fucked up children's special.

*Character Speaks German.*
As a German I slightly question your definitions of "seedy" and "Eastern"... :? :o

My favorite of these specials has always been Jack Frost

Heatmiser and Coldmiser from the Year Without a Santa Clause is where it's at.

Hrm, you know, Heatmiser looks an awful lot like Burgermeister...

So, what would be the universe? Going by the films that had Rooney as Santa...

Santa Claus is Coming to Town (1970)
The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974)
Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (1979)
A Miser Brothers' Christmas (2008)

Now, because of Rudoph and Frosty crossover, which still had Jackie Vernon as Frosty, and given they were also Rankin/Bass, that means the animated (not stop motion) Frosty films probably count as well, not to mention the Rudolph movies even though they had a different Santa voice.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
Frosty the Snowman (1969)
Frosty's Winter Wonderland (1976)
Rudolph's Shiny New Year (1976)

But that means it starts getting trickier. because there's multiple not Rooney Santa voices if you start counting Rudolph, and if animated counts too and not just stop motion, then where does something like 'Twas the Night Before Christmas fit in? ANd what about the other time Rooney voiced Santa, but not for Rankin Bass? And what about Nestor the donkey?

...and then there was the live action version of year without a santa clause... let's not talk about that.

I remember being surprised how well it held up over the decades, honestly better then its more famous contemporaries like Rudolph and Frosty. She still liked The Smurfs Christmas better.
I quite like Frosty. Rudolph is... problematic. I still have nostalgia for it, and some cool aspects, but also some elements that have bugged me for years. Ah well.

I've seen this one much less often, only a couple of times I think, but did enjoy it.

The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is actually my favorite. Maybe he will do that one next year.

I've always had a soft spot for Rudolph's Shiny New Year. I caught it on TV last year but they had cut my favorite part for the commercials...

That used to be the traditional viewing for Christmas at my grandparents' place.
