I'm a Clinton voter, and I'm personally torn on this issue. Don't label us all the same. I'd personally wish we could pull out of the Middle East. Even if that means Israel has to fend for itself, because... they're quickly becoming what they hate. Let them reap the consequences of their imperialism and bullying. Problem is, so long as Russia is emerging as a newly risen aggressive state that wants to conquer, we can't be caught off-guard, even for a second. Trump is doing exactly what Putin wants, and I don't support that. If Putin were to leave the region alone, I'd support cheeto's actions. But you know that old Soviet-style tyrant won't do that. As an outsider looking in, I have to say that your system seems badly designed. Millions of hard working people not being able to put food on their table because they are not getting paid is an absurd situation to find in a 1st world country (at least that is how it is being reported here). Is there any emergency money, let off from rent or back pay for these people? How did such a system even come about without checks and balances to ensure that a compromise is reached before it reaches this level?
And specifics of this shut down aside, I feel as if this is a system reliant on both sides thinking more of the proletariat than measuring their own dicks which seems like a rather hopeful notion.

Oh, and on the subject of the wall itself, it seems like folly. This thing is going to cost billions EVERY YEAR it is up due to maintenance costs and the investment in infrastructure, technology and men required for guarding the thing from people with spades, ladders, ropes, ram-raiding vehicles and dynamite. And that is after you have ploughed through populated land to construct it.
It will not do what Trump says it will do and will almost certainly be pulled down by a future president anyway.
