Well Wolverine isn't particularly coming as a hard aggressor with kamehamehas, so there's probably a bit of room for softer handling of the situation instead of outright killing him.

If you defined your victory condition as: Everyone looses interest, as you can not discuss at least semi-seriously; then, yes, you won.
