The judge's ruling says, "The male-only registration requirement of the Military Selective Service Act, 50 U.S.C. § 3802(a), violates the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution.”

Previous challenges were denied on the basis that women weren't allowed in combat, but now they're allowed in combat.

I'm very anti-draft, but IF you're going to do it, it's a more grey and complex situation than you first think. On the one hand, I'd be thrilled for women to join the battlefield as equals alongside men. On the other hand, there's also the potential for sexual assault not just if they get captured, but from their own fucking comrades, and... if they don't wanna be there in the first place, then yes, it's gonna make their lives even more hell.
