When did you discover Chuck's SF Debris show and how?

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Cool. I identify as center-left too.

I had an SD.net account too, but I haven't used it in years. Mike Wong is just... eh. I do find most of his arguments regarding Trek vs. Wars to be accurate, but as a person, he's disgusting. Plain and simple.

Now that it's all said, how about the subject change from Mike Wong and toward the topic matter?

Sure. Again, for me it was 2012, and mostly thanks to a smaller YouTube content creator.

@Yukaphile Woo, another Poparena fan!

For a while with sites I frequent (or used to frequent) there was a clear chain of discovery. Cracked.com introduced me to TVTropes. TVTropes introduced me to Linkara. Linkara introduced me to the rest of TGWTG.

So how does SF Debris fit into this? Honestly I can't quite remember. You'd think it would have been Linkara since he mentions occasionally, but I think it was TV Tropes. This would have been around 2011.

I was a poparena fan. He kicked me out of his community back in November, so... not a fan anymore. Haven't been watching his stuff since then. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to go back, but that requires him actually getting his head out of his ass and admitting he was in the wrong as much as he thinks I am, because I'll keep repeating that I was NOT accusing him of not voting. I'll keep saying that to my grave - as well as take to my grave the fact that I'll keep saying that to my grave.

I could swear we've had this thread before...

In any case, I've actually forgotten where exactly I first heard of him, but it was probably either SCN or TrekBBS. I forget what year it was exactly, but he was still on YouTube at the time, and I remember going through and watching all the videos that were in his channel at the time, but missing some because he was already having problems with copyright flagging. Shortly after I found him he started moving things over to Blip and the way I was able to finally watch all this reviews was that someone had downloaded the original YouTube videos and put them in a Zip file that they shared on the first forum.

O RLY? Well, there's like a dozen pages to scroll back through, and the search function isn't reliable, so...

I do remember seeing his reviews briefly on SD.net. I know they were very popular there. I wonder if they still are? I've heard the forums are on life-support.

To my knowledge the forums are still fairly active and Chuck's still got a following there, just as he does on Spacebattles.

I also want to avoid any repetition of complaints about other forums or persons, frankly I was out of line myself for making remarks about Wong, and I don't care to see others making my mistake. Note this isn't an accusation, it's a a pre-emptive statement to preclude any further issues.

On the subject matter, it is interesting to see all of the ways people found Chuck. And it's a reminder of how big his following's gotten since those YouTube days when Star Trek was his primary focus.

And only Voyager. LOL. But back then, screaming at the screen and being exaggeratedly negative was the trendy thing to do. So glad he branched out and found his own path past being "the Nostalgia Critic 2.0."

Observed him through his text reviews over on SD.net user who registered here on the original forum, before it was destroyed. Hence the matching avatars and sigs.
