Mahoromatic

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Mahoromatic

Great show. One of my favorite anime. Can't wait for Chuck to review the second season. The show takes a decidedly darker turn near the end, but here's a funny clip from the second season.

I keep wanting to read it as "Mahoromantic"

I was a bit surprised Chuck even got near Mahoromatic, given how distressed he was by the implied nudity of Rei in Evagelion 1.01.

I can't believe that it's been almost a year since the last season 1 review. Anyway, here's the opening to season 2.

I was in high school when I was first introduced to this. Anime was limited to me in the early 2000s. Far from what it is now and I had no idea what was really good, stupid or just plain dumb.

I have a soft spot nostalgia for this show. Mostly because I was pretty innocent to Anime at the time.

All right! It's been almost three years, but I'm glad that this show is back on the schedule.

The "All Dirty Thoughts Are Bad" censor is probably the greatest contribution this show has made to SF Debris. And I did enjoy the cutaway gag about Project Project, though I admit I kinda got lost there at several places.

As for the direction the show itself is taking, Minawa (was that the name?) seems to be an exaggeration of the cute, clumsy girl trope. Plot-wise I doubt she's an assassin, too clumsy for that, but a spy, possibly even unwitting (assuming she's another android you'd just have to have a system in there to relay what she sees and hears back to base), is possible. The robo-plane attack could easily have just been a way of making it seem like she was no longer with Management and to more easily integrate her within the household of her targets.
