I won't be on much today, but I just thought I would share this. So twenty years ago, I began what has been a crazy journey, with the kind of challenges that I could never have imagined. There was a portent of this, though. I had rented a local community center for the reception afterward, the kind of place that normal hosts Elk Club meetings and stuff like that, but we fixed it up so it was grand. One thing it never occurred to us to check was to make sure the tables were fine; I mean, holding things up is what a table does, it was like thinking that the door would suddenly decide to fall off its hinges. Technically it could, but you normally don't think that.
So... one of the tables collapsed. Just one. The table with the wedding cake on it. Before we'd even had a chance to take pictures of it. One side gave, so it and all the other desserts skidded down and turned into a huge sugary mess. As you know, a wedding cake (especially meant to feed a hundred people) is not cheap, so we were quite disheartened that we had spent hundreds of dollars on a stain.
So I got my wife a little present.
And while I'd like to invite you all over to try some, there probably won't be any left by the time you get here.
