How the heck does *that* work? Also, different colors of kryptonite do different things to Superman, and most of them are generally toxic.

Re: Superman - The Last Son of Krypton
That's probably because total spaz Clark died with the Silver Age. All-Star Superman is pretty much a Silver Age Superman story, so that's why Clark is acting that way. Since then, Clark is just kind of a dorky sweetheart Lois is falling for because, well, it's Clark. He's this nice guy who is kind to everyone, is incredibly handsome, and is always an incredibly knowledgeable man who has traveled the world and brings out a great perspective on things. Plus, he's confidant enough to not play the macho bravado games with other people, because he knows he doesn't have to.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 3:11 pm I've never seen any screen adaptation where Lois is attracted to Clark Kent as far as when he purposefully acts clumsy by tripping over and dropping things, not aware of his immediate surrounding, etc. He doesn't comb his hair and his glasses don't fit.
I feel like I've seen her be pretty objectifying to him but Idunno, and I've seen her care for him as much as she does Jimmy Olsen. She undermines his effectiveness as a reporter, but it's not like you can blame her for being wrong when he kinda cheats at his job. It's an amusing professional harmless relationship in which the charade gets dropped eventually.
All-Star Superman movie that Chuck reviewed had the whole arc in a nutshell.
He also corrects her spelling mistakes, which are quite common.
This is also why Dean Cain, Tyler Hoechin, and Brandon Routh bring that charm to him.

Take it from a gay guy, Superman is great and all, but Clark Kent is someone I'd date in a heartbeat.

Remember in the Death of Clark Kent, Superman finds Lois at his Clark's apartment and they talk for a awhile and Lois sees a picture of her and Clark together. She breaks down and cries stating that she always treated him so bad and she actually admired and respected him. She even liked him a lot.

I'm sure it's happened. Just that pretty much every story that gets around involves her having a platonic relationship with Clark when she doesn't know or a monkey's out of the bottle dynamic when she does.FaxModem1 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 8:53 pm

They wouldn't write her doublesided like that. But most of the time she just likes him like a brother.Scififan wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 9:05 pm Remember in the Death of Clark Kent, Superman finds Lois at his Clark's apartment and they talk for a awhile and Lois sees a picture of her and Clark together. The trick there is Neil Armstrong had a line he was SUPPOSED to say and he botched it on the day. They later said "oh, audio error messed it up" to try and cover it, and many history books write down the intended line with the "a" in there... but its not what he said.
If I was walking on the moon I wouldn't remember my script either.
Re: Superman - The Last Son of Krypton
I give him serious credit for getting so close though, pretty sure my "holy shit holy shit, I'm on the moon this is awesome" wouldn't get into the history books quite as often.RobbyB1982 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 9:13 pmThe trick there is Neil Armstrong had a line he was SUPPOSED to say and he botched it on the day. Probably still be quoted a lot though.
Re: Superman - The Last Son of Krypton
Wow, Damn. Feel really bad for the guy who played the CW version of Clark getting shown up like that. And feel really bad for Brandon Routh since this shows pretty clearly he could have succeeded Reeves on the big screen if not for the garbage script.FaxModem1 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 8:53 pm

Re: Superman - The Last Son of Krypton
IIRC some writers in the comics addressed this by suggesting that Kryptonians were a bit xenophobic and didn't want to risk interacting with other species so they stayed on Krypton. Though why they didn't colonize any of the other planets in their system is another question entirely... Unless Krypton was the only planet in the system. *shrugs*
Re: Superman - The Last Son of Krypton
I had always been under the impression the destruction of Krypton(whether by the core imploding or Rao going supernova) somehow altered the makeup of the pieces of Krypton, crating the different types of kryptonite. Kinda like in metallurgy, mixing different metals under certain conditions gives you alloys of different characteristicsCheerilee wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 12:42 am
