Stargirl (DC)

Post by BridgeConsoleMasher »

This is a new show premiering on DC Universe.

I think the likes of it will win over comic book fans like clearspira who are on the fence about female superheroes in media in the midst of commercially incentivised progressivism.

I think I'm really tired of people like clearspica who can't discuss a tv show without throwing a crying fit about whatever idiot politics isn't being catered to enough.

It's really tiring the amount that the right wing inserts their politics into every fucking discussion on these forums.

Well I'm just glad there's finally a show that we can possibly all agree on has heart and treats revering fans with some sort of semblance of respect.

I remember reading the first few issues of this character being released.
I wonder if they will bring in some of those initial bad guys or move directly into her dynamic with the JSA and being a legacy character. As I would be curious out the bad guy Paintball gets visualized.

Oh don't worry, I'm sure he'll use the gender disparity between men and women in CW Superhero show leads to show how DC has a clear pro-women bias. He managed to shoehorn it into the Harley Quinn thread somehow, after all.

I mean what else could explain how many of their shows have title characters who were women? Could there be any other explanation for this vast gender imbalance?

I'll bet you $450 USD that this brings it around for him.

I think the likes of it will win over comic book fans like clearspira who are on the fence about female superheroes in media in the midst of commercially incentivised progressivism.

That works too, thanks.

On topic: this looks alright if a bit teeny-bopper. It feels like they're skewing a bit younger with this one.

DC Comics (as opposed to Vertigo) have always been geared for a teenage audience. As older consumers, it is worth remembering that - we can watch them, but they might not cater to us.
