He's branded himself on being obtuse and arrogant.GreyICE wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 9:31 amDarth, literally every time I've tried to discuss science and reason, you've insulted me, and dodged any discussion of the science.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 7:14 amI know of some people on the left who are capable of using logic, facts, and honesty, and just have different priorities than I do. 1) Care to discuss global warming, how it is man made, and the fact that the Republican party clearly is full of voters, congressmen, and leaders who deny it exists?
2) Care to discuss how Trump's rollback of the clean air act has killed people?
3) Care to post random insults because you are too mentally deficient to handle an actual discussion that uses facts, logic, and reason?
Do I sense that you're going to pick door number 3 again?

Here we go again. You said most Republicans don't believe in global warming. I pointed out that most Republicans believe in climate change, and you gave information that showed most Republicans think humanity is contributing to it. Then you called me a liar.
You also said that I had to chose between rejecting science regarding air pollution or admitting Trump wanted to commit mass murder. I pointed out that we compromise health and safety all the time without it being considered murder. Shockingly, you ignored that.
I gave up on you being rational, and I left it (and leave it) to others to judge the arguments based on the merit of facts and logic.
Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
Today I learned that 14% is considered "most" when Darth wants it to be.
But hey, at least we got some progress! Darth admitted that Trump's regulations changes killed people. Now, here's the tricky bit: can Darth justify why those changes were necessary and good? What did they do for us, outside of enriching a few corporations? Was it jobs? Can he point to a single job it created? How was anything it did worth thousands of lives?
We'll see how going down this course of evidence-based discussion works out for us.

Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
Just to be clear, what I said was:
So at least 53% of conservative Republicans believe in climate change, and that human activity contributes to it. The average Republican may not think the average of 53% and 77% because the how conservative and moderate/liberal may not be divided into equal populations by the study's criteria, but the average for Republicans overall should lie within 53% and 77%.
And the actual study GreyICE quotes said that 14% said human activity contributed "a great deal" and 39% said it contributed "some" of conservative Republicans, for a total of 53% saying that human activity contributes to climate change. For moderate and liberal Republicans, that was 35% and 42% for a total of 77%, respectively. Here we go again. You said most Republicans don't believe in global warming. I can't reconcile what I said with what GreyICE apparently says that I said. Not without bringing alternate timelines into play.
Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
So Darth, for the record, using your best understanding of science, and so I am absolutely not misrepresenting you in any possible way: Based on your understanding of climate change, what percentage of the observed climate change we see is due to human activity?
You may give the answer in the form of a number, a range, or an approximate percentage.
Because for making policy, saying "oh it's happening but it's all natural and there's nothing we can do" is exactly as useless as saying "it's not happening".

Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
I'll be happy to answer you, GreyICE, if you'll explain how at least 53% of people saying human activity has at least "Some" responsibility for climate change don't believe in climate change.
Or if you can tell me why answering questions from someone who does not consider honesty to be important.
Either one. I'm flexible.

Re: Trump Becomes "Lava Level Mad"
Because the latest weasel from the GOP is that "oh climate change is happening, but humans don't cause it." Which is total bullshit as well. So you're just prevaricating on which piece of anti-scientific bullshit it is that Republicans believe. "Oh no, we don't think the world is flat. We just question if maybe it's a cube."
By the by, it's funny to see you try to copy my observation that you're a liar. Too retarded to do anything other than copy me, and too cowardly to answer the question. Which is, well, what literally everyone on this website expects out of you.
(odds on the lying piece of shit answering the question? Zero, of course. He couldn't debate science with a twelve year old, nevermind someone who actually knows what they're taking about)

Could you please not use the R-word as an insult?

Actually, most Republicans were cited by your evidence as not only believing in climate change (which was the point of contention), but that humans contribute to it (which is what you seem to be trying to retcon your statement to).
