The final countdown?

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

The final countdown?

Is that a star trek show, or a movie or something else.

The Final Countdown's soundtrack is better than that song.

Also, I can't help but smile whenever I watch either this movie or the Zipang anime-series. The thematic and audible similarities are uncanny....

Zipang is also a great series if you really wanna find out, what a modern warship does to World War 2 military equipment on a larger scale than two Tomcats vs two Zeroes. (Still, The Final Countdown's dogfight-scene remains unforgetably iconic.)

Anyways, looking forward to the review. :)

Miles and miles better. For a somewhat more complete sampling of various tracks from the film score, see also:

I'm also looking forward to the review. "The Final Countdown" has been one of my favorite movies since I first saw it on cable ca. 1981, thanks to the stunning aerial cinematography (which has only been bettered once in the 40 years since, by "Top Gun"). Of course I was young then, and in more recent decades I've also come to appreciate the film for its brains (whereas "Top Gun"... Well, at least that one's still a very pretty movie). One of the interesting things about this movie, at least to Present-Day Me, is the fidelity of its depiction of aircraft carrier operations - so I'm curious to see whether Chuck comments on that at all.

Coincidentally, one of the F-14 pilots involved in That Scene was recently interviewed on an aviation-focused YT channel. It is perhaps more interesting to aviation enthusiasts than to film buffs, but here is the portion of the interview (about 14 minutes) in which "Shoes" discusses filming the movie:

The past tempts us, the present confuses us, the future frightens us. And our lives slip away moment by moment lost in that vast, terrible in-between.

I watched this for the first time on Netflix back in 2013.
I generally found it disappointing.
